Our Dentist and team

 Dr. Kenneth (Kenny) Austin, general dentist, is originally from Tupelo, MS and graduated from Tupelo High in 1988. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Mississippi in 1993. He received his Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 1997. After spending 10 years as a partner at Okolona Family Dentistry, he joined his wife at Austin Dental Clinic in 2007. Dr. Kenny, as the staff refers to him, completed an implant externship at the University of Tennessee Dental School in 2004. He added an orthodontic externship with the Academy of G.P. Orthodontics in 2010. 

 Dr. Mindelyn (Mindy) Austin, general dentist, is originally from Vicksburg, MS and graduated from Warren Central High School in 1990.  She received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1994. She received her Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 1998. After practicing dentistry in Booneville, MS for 4 years, she founded Austin Dental Clinic in 2002.  In 2005 she moved to the current location. Dr. Mindy, as the staff refers to her, served as President of the Dental Alumni Chapter from 2004-2005. In 2006 she helped establish, and served as president of, the Mississippi Chapter of the Association of Women Dentists. Dr. Mindy has always had a heart for the underserved. In 2012 she helped develop the dental division of the Tree of Life Clinic here in Tupelo where patients are seen by volunteer Dentist at no charge.

 Dr. Carley Wall is originally from Tupelo, MS and graduated from Tupelo High in 2014. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Mississippi in 2018. She received her Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2022. Dr Carley has been practicing dentistry in Tupelo since graduation and is a certified Invisalign and ClearCorrect provider. 

Leigh Ann grew up in Tupelo. After a move she graduated from Pontotoc High School in 1996. She received her Dental Hygiene degree from Northeast Mississippi Community College in 2001. After working with both Dr Kenny and Dr Mindy at other locations she was an obvious choice as the first hygienist of the clinic in 2002. Leigh Ann knows everything about our clinic and pitches in anywhere she is needed. She is experienced and  gentle at dental cleanings

Kayla is originally from Hernando, MS where she graduated High School in 2010. She attended Northeast Community College from 2012-2014 and received her Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene. Kayla moved to Tupelo in 2019 and now calls it home. She joined our team in 2022 and is fitting in nicely. Kayla takes pride in her profession and we get nothing but compliments from her patients when performing dental cleanings.

 Melissa will most likely be the first smiling face you see when you visit. She runs the front office from check in to check out including all insurance questions. She started with us as a chairside assistant in 2010 so she understands every aspect of the office. In 2016 she took over the front office and continues to thrive in that roll. But don’t be surprised if she sneaks into the back and fills in assisting the doctor 

 Melissa has been a dental assistant since 2005 and it shows. She brings a vast knowledge and experience to the office. She joined us in 2019 and hasn’t looked back. Melissa oversees ordering all supplies and keeps the back running smoothly. She shares her knowledge with students while teaching an assisting school that is hosted at our office 

Ellie is a 2022 graduate of Accelerated Dental Assisting Academy which we host on site. Ellie was top in her class, and everything just came natural to her. She joined our team immediately after graduating. Ellie is excited to continue growing in her new profession.

Karly is another graduate of Accelerated Dental Assisting Academy which we host on site. In 2023 Karly was hand picked and began work before she even completed the class. Her ability to understand and master a skill quickly set her apart.
